Have you ever had that feeling when you're absolutely brow beaten and exhausted but super excited at the same time?

Well at long last we've just about come up for air after what has ended up being four months of crazy crazy craziness! I know it's been a while and I hope you haven't forgotten about us, but our 'New Studio' project has been a long time coming and has taken a tad longer than expected!

So.... I feel as if we're just about ready to SPRING INTO SPRING!

We're back....and if you'd like a sneaky peek at what's been happening, then read on. I'll try not to bore you senseless so I'll try and catch up with lots of pics instead.

So what started off as a new studio plan back in 2018 eventually turned into a full on house renovation and studio build which started at the end of September 2019.

We've gone from this.....

Through to this....

We've knocked walls down, built walls up, the lot! We've had what feels like hundreds of decisions to make, from sockets to paving slabs to kitchen's and colours. We made the brave yet crazy decision not to move out and the builders left bang on time just in time for Christmas. They were absolutely amazing!

However, the reality of all this, looking back now has been huge. Oh the joys of working from home and not moving out while you're literally living in one room that's covered in sheets whilst using a two ring electric hob, a microwave and a slow cooker and don't even ask about the washing up! As for the dust......I don't know how we did it now looking back, but we sure were glad to go to family for Christmas for a well needed break!

Any how, January came round very quickly and it was then over to the joiners, electricians, plumbers, tilers and us to finish off.

In all 28 tradesmen have worked on this project and don't we know it too! I've lost count how many cups of tea and coffee that we've made, not to mention the biscuits, cakes and bacon butties too. (We did our best!)

We've slapped on a total of 50 litres of paint, actually I'VE slapped on 50 litres of paint and what do you think of my copper wall? I love it! We've put in a new kitchen ourselves and are now at the tail end of all the finishing touches.

The last couple of weeks has been spent moving from the old studio to our lovely new space. I can't wait to get going putting all the new ideas that we have into action. Believe me, there's nothing more exciting and frustrating than having a sketch book full of ideas and your new work space being completely upside down and not quite ready for action yet. We've still been ticking along in our old space over the last three months but looking back, it has been a tad challenging.

Well, we're back and so excited to share lots of newness and to get going at full speed again. If you're still reading this, then thank you and apologies for the long read, but it's been a while.

Bring it on Spring 2020!

Until next time,

Claire x
