We have Sunshine!
Oh yes! Hello June and hello sunshine too! Long may it last.
I just thought I'd drop you a quick shout out this week to let you know who won the lovely 'Red, White and Blue Cushion' in last week's competition and to introduce another couple of members of the family here at Dunnknit Designs HQ.
Firstly, the lucky winner of the Merino Wool Panel Cushion was Sarah Ellis who entered over on Facebook. If you haven't seen it already, I posted a short video of me literally pulling a name out of the hat on my Facebook and Instagram pages and Sarah's name came out of the hat fair and square! She kindly sent me a photo of it in situ in her conservatory along with a lovely message too. How lovely is that?
"OMG, the pillow is absolutely stunning!!!!!! Wow, it’s just gorgeous! it’s going to look gorgeous in the conservatory. Thank you so much, you are super talented."
(Sarah did message me to say that I could use her pic and comment) Thank you Sarah.
I must just say a big thank you to everyone from far and wide who entered into the competition too. I really appreciate you all spreading the word about Dunnknit Designs and my Chunky Merino Knits and Artworks. A great big thank you to those of you who have placed orders this week too! If I haven't messaged you directly already, I promise I'll get back to you over the weekend.
So, it's a deep breath after a busy four day week and here we are again, it's Friyay and we have had a run of a few days of simply glorious sunshine here 'Up North' which makes a change. So I hope you have all had a good week and have lots of lovely things planned for the weekend.
It's head in books here at Dunnknit HQ for Miss Dunnett as although this week has been half term, we're bang in the middle of GCSE's which believe me isn't fun. Mind you, it's a good time for me to get things done and get planning for the months ahead which is exactly what I've been doing. Can you believe I've actually started planning Christmas???? Oh yes, we're one day into June and I'm thinking about Christmas. The sketch book has been busy and for the next couple of weeks I'm heading into my bunker to make my Christmas drawings come to life and to literally make tons of Santa Hat Tree Toppers. I'm not expecting any epic fails but who knows! There's bound to be a call to Dad in the mix somewhere! (Sorry Dad if your'e reading this.)
So, it's full steam ahead here at the mo apart from a cheeky couple of hours out enjoying the sunshine today with our two fur babies. (I will be working all weekend) I even managed to get some lovely pics of them in the garden too. Let me introduce you......
Meet Monty! He's definitely the top dog and the oldest of the two. Actually he'll be 5 next week. It's normally soooo difficult to get a decent photo of this guy as he's jet black and never seems to stay still long enough outside to get a shot of him. He's a Cockapoo and is absolutely bonkers! He's a handsome dude though hey!
Then we have our lovely Hobbs or 'Groot' as he's often known as. (If you've even seen the film 'Guardians of the Galaxy' then you'll understand, apologies if you haven't seen it) Hobbs is our 2 year old Miniature Labradoodle and not that it really makes any difference these days, but he's completely deaf. He was born deaf and he's the sweetest, cuddliest boy you'll ever meet. He watches everyone and everything all the time and he's ace at sign language. He's a real nose on him for food though! Wow, talk about other senses making up for a lost sense. It's true with this guy all right! He's such a cutie.
So there you are! I just thought I'd share a bit about what goes on here at Dunnknit Designs besides all the woolly stuff (You see, I do get out occasionally). These two fur balls are great pals and are both great fun and good company when I'm all on my lonesome working from home. Plus it makes me get out of the house each day to walk them too, which can only be a good thing.
Now for those of you who are living and breathing exams too, good luck with it all and I'm sure you'll understand why my next blog post will be in two weeks time when we eventually come out on the other side. I cannot wait. Roll on the 15th June! Then next on the list is my birthday and hollybobs time, I can't wait!
I hope you're all enjoying some sunshine too!
(ps. Let me know if you have any Christmas requests! I was asked to make all sorts of random things in December last year but sadly didn't have the time to make half of them. Thanks. Cx)
