Unlike other Dunnknit Designs items I have chosen to add the beautiful Shetland wool option along with the usual Merino Wool in order to make these circular rugs by hand. The Shetland wool is fine, soft and silky to the touch with good, bulky down characteristics, ideal to use for a floor covering whereas the trusty Chunky Merino Wool once processed is simply stunning and is available in lots of different colours. These rugs are super thick and soft beneath your feet and made with daily living in mind. (Although Shetland Wool colours are limited to Natural White, Grey, Brown and Black there are over 100 Merino Wool colours available from the UK Mill I use so just convo me if you've a specific colour in mind.)
Rug Measures approx:
Small 65cm Diameter
Medium 100cm Diameter
Large 130cm Diameter
Each Circular Rug I make is hand made from unspun chunky Shetland or Merino wool which I knit using my giant crochet needle which my dear Dad (the wood turner) made for me from a beautiful piece of Ash. After each item is made up, I then process and finish each piece by hand to make it as durable as possible whilst still retaining the luxurious feel and texture that we associate with Shetland and Merino wool. This processing is a real labour of love but definitely worth the wait. (Please bear in mind that each one is slightly different due to the hand finish and natural wool)
Spot clean any spills and dry clean only when necessary. This is a handmade item made from unspun Shetland or Merino wool so just as with any woollen item, pilling may occur with heavy use, pilling is not a defect and can be gently trimmed accordingly.
